Roland Tyrone Tyler, 50, passed away on October 4, 2019. He was born March 30, 1969 to the union of Roland Tyler, Jr. and Shelia (Byrd) Tyler in Atchison, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his sister, Tonda; paternal grandparents, Roland Tyler, Sr. and Vearl Tyler; maternal grandparents, Frank Hayes and Lila Hayes; uncles, James "Jimmy" Tyler and Ralph Dudley; nephew, Frank Robert Beasley II and niece, Alisa Winrow.

Roland was educated in the public schools of Atchison, Kansas and furthered his education at Penn Valley Community College.

Roland, affectionately known by several names such as "Sabastion" and "X1", was a loving son, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved mother, Shelia Tyler of the home; father, Roland Tyler, Jr. (Pat) of Atchison, KS; his children, Tylan Tyler of Kansas City, MO and Brooklyn Tyler of St. Joseph, MO; three sisters, Ralonda Tyler "X2", Robyn Tyler "X3" and Shelia "NaNa" Tyler; grandparents, William and Dorothy Dudley; grandson, Kendrick Shaw, Jr.; two uncles, Adam Shaw, Sr. and Lonnie Dudley; seven aunts, Joann Byrd, Barbara Campbell, Alberta "Frankie" Hayes, Cheryl Shaw, Maxine Ross (Ricky), Martha Wilson (Stevie) and Gladys Burns; nephews, Shayne Tyler, Alonzo Winrow, Sir Tyler and Master Tyler; nieces, Celia Beasley, Alisa Howard and Ashley Howard; special great niece, Raniah Beasley and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Friday, October 11, 2:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
