Ronika Latrice Newton, 40, was born March 19, 1978 to Ronald and Deborah Newton was the third of five children. She transitioned on July 8, 2018 at Research Medical Center.

Ronika attended school in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Central High School in 1996. She continued her education at Metropolitan Community College Penn Valley and graduated with her Associate of Arts degree in 2003. Ronika loved children and worked as a preschool teacher. She was very active in her local church serving as a Wednesday night teacher for preschool aged children.

From birth, Ronika was a vessel through which God displayed His miraculous healing power. From being born prematurely, to surviving open heart surgery at the age of one, she beat the odds and continuously proved doctors wrong. Ronika professed her faith in Christ an early age and was an encourager to all around her. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. Ronika was truly an example of strength and meekness. Despite the obstacles with her health, she remained a faithful servant of Christ. She will be missed greatly missed, however we know we will see her again.

Ronika was preceded to glory by her beloved father, Ronald Newton; beloved niece, Ja'Nae Charleston; maternal and paternal grandparents, and a host of other relatives. She leaves to celebrate her life: her mother, Deborah Newton; siblings, Lewis, Lakisa, John and Angel; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, church family and friends.
