Obituary

Rosetta Lucille Eston, 95, Grandview, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 30, 2017. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas to the union of Jimmie D. Jordan Turner and James Robert Turner on August 13, 1921, the eldest of four siblings and the only one that survived childhood. She was preceded in death by her parents; an aunt, Mary Henry, who raised her during her teenage years; her son, Jimmy F. Turner; two daughters, Karen Eston Garrett and Merna Eston English; grandson Jimmy F. Turner, Jr.; granddaughters, Shelley Eston and Malena Eston Young. Rosetta grew up in the Rosedale, Kansas area and attended Northeast High School. She retired from Osteopathic Hospital where she was employed as a CNA. Rosetta enjoyed reading, listening to gospel music, traveling, crafts and any activity with her family. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She was very humble and wise. She truly loved the Lord and read the Bible daily always displaying the 'fruits of the spirit' in her daily living. Her smile and laughter was as beautiful as her kindred spirit. She was intelligent, compassionate, hardworking, dedicated, responsible, sincere and an excellent role model for her children. Like Jesus, she too, sacrificed so much for her children and others. She was a true champion of higher education and stressed the importance of obtaining a college degree, for she knew the struggles she encountered because she didn't secure one. One day we will see you again and recognize you by that infectious smile. Mama we will always love you and you will forever be in our hearts and on our minds. Thank You for always being there for us and giving us the courage, confidence, strength, love, morals, work ethics, Christian background and so much of yourself. God called a radiant ANGEL home, saying 'Well done my good and faithful servant, well done'! She leaves to cherish her legacy and memories: son, Theron Eston; daughters, Marsha Artholee, Sheri Jones (Lloyd) and Debra Authorlee (Clarence); son-in-law Wade English and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 4, 11:00 a.m. at Greater Grace Temple Pentecostal Church. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
