Roy Edward Johnson Sr. was born December 17, 1934, to the union of Charles and Beatrice Johnson in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He moved to Kansas City, Missouri with his family as a child.

Roy accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church. Roy received his formal education in the Kansas City, Missouri school district. After graduation, Roy enlisted into the United States Army. Roy was an entrepreneur. He had a passion for helping others which could be seen through his many public relations and love of dominoes and fishing. He also loved singing, he was in a male quartet for many years.

Roy departed this life on Sunday, October 4, 2020. He was preceded in death by both parents, his brother,Robert Johnson, one son, Edwin Johnson and special companion Joann Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory; three sons, Roy Johnson Jr. (Phyliss), Michael Williams both of Kansas City, MO and Charles Johnson (Corrmae) of Omaha, NE; two daughters Crener Owens and Samone Williams of Kansas City, MO. twenty-one grandchildren, two special granddaughters, Taneika McHenry and Destiny Rolf of Kansas City, MO; six great grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be Sunday, October 11, at 2:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Private Disposition. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website. Due to Covid-19 pandemic face masks are required.
