Ruby J. Lewis, 64, KCMO, passed away on April 9, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospice. She was born October 14, 1953 to the union of U.D. Sutton and Ruthie L. Racy in Winchester, Arkansas. Her father preceded her in death. Ruby lived in the Kansas City area most of her life and was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri public schools. She was united in marriage to Alonzo Lewis in 1998; he also preceded her in death. Ruby had a heart of gold that gave her a passion for assisting people in the community with whatever needs they had. You could always find her trying to help others. She loved children and enjoyed cooking, bowling and spending time with her family. She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Ruthie L. Ward of the home; four uncles, David Racy of Kansas City, MO, Roosevelt Racy of Kansas City, KS, D.V. Racy of Little Rock, AR and Van Racy of Texarkana, AR; two aunts, Essie Bradford of Little Rock, AR and Blanche Stanley of Kansas City, KS; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
