Ruby C.
Raglon
Nov 10, 1932 — Jul 22, 2018
Ruby C. (Whatley) Raglon, better known as "Mom", was born November 10, 1932 to Be Dilia McIntyre. She grew up in the small town of Grady, Alabama which will forever be home. After graduating from Helicon High School, she moved to Kansas City, Kansas with her uncle and aunt to begin her working career.
Mom was united in marriage to Alex Raglon, a Kansas City firefighter, and to that union two daughters were born, Debra and Dedra.
Mom had many great jobs. She worked for KU Medical Center for over 15 years and retired from Western Electric in Lee's Summit with 30+ years of service. Not able to sit still, Mom started a part time job as a Walmart greeter. There she was able to talk, and if you know Mom she could talk to anyone. She never met a person that wasn't a friend.
Mom had many things she loved to do including bingo, traveling with her girlfriends and cooking for everyone she could. She was famous for those cakes and cookies we all loved. Shopping was an art for Mom, and she loved a great pair of shoes and a good purse! Her Grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Mom accepted Christ at a young age as a member of King Solomon Baptist Church and then became a member of St. Stephen Baptist church for over 50 years.
Mom transitioned from this life on July 22, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.
She leaves to cherish her memory forever: daughters, Debra Jenkins and Dedra Raglon both of Kansas City, MO; one grandson, Erron Jay of Los Angeles, CA; one granddaughter, Ayanna Spearman of Kansas City, MO; one brother, Nasbie Provitt of Grady, AL; four sisters, Juliette Garlington (Wayne) of Kansas City KS, Josephine Carlson of Grady, AL, Catherine Barron of Cincinnati OH, and Merdies Smith of New Jersey. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, two ride-or-die friends, Carol Houcks and Essie White, and her Angel Sharell.
