Obituary

Sakethia Denise Humphrey, 37, departed this earthly life on Saturday July 9, 2016 in Grandview, Missouri while at home with her daughter and niece. She was born May 27, 1979 to the union of David and Diana Humphrey at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO and was the youngest of three children. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Diana Humphrey, maternal grandfathers, grandmother, uncles and aunts. Affectionately known by her family as 'Kethie' or 'Aunt Kethie',she received her early education from North Rock Creek Elementary and Martin Luther King Middle School. She later attended Metro Tech High School before transferring to Ruskin High School. After high school she went on to Kansas City Job Corps, where she earned her clerical office support certification. Kethie accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Earl Able, where her mother was also a member. At the early age of sixteen, she found her first job at Pizza Hut. She later held various jobs including at Price Chopper, AT&T and Target. She spent the last five years with Durham Bus Services, where she enjoyed working with children whom she affectionately called 'her babies.' Kethie will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and infectious smile. She enjoyed getting her hair done, watching movies, nice tennis shoes, spending time with her family and most of all life with her daughter. Above all, she loved her mother and her daughter. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Dionna Moore; brother, David Humphrey III; sister, Kimberly Humphrey; father, David Humphrey II (Britta); grandmother, Wanda Richardson; nephew, Jamari 'Doot Doot' Florio; niece, Jasmine Florio; best friend, Sarah Brown and a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 23, 3:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Private disposition. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be on our website.
