Obituary

Samson Frank, Sr., 86, passed away January 8, 2018 at the home. He was born March 22, 1931 to McKinley Frank, Sr. and Adeline (Thompson) Frank in New Iberia, Louisiana. His parents; brother, Leroy Frank; two sisters, Viola Frank Lewis and Lillie Mae Frank Price; two sons, Kevin W. Frank and Samson Frank, Jr.; and one daughter, Jacqueline Spencer all preceded him in death.

Samson was educated in the Louisiana public schools and was a graduate of Iberia Parish Training High School in 1949. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the 24th Infantry Division in Korea. He was member of the legendary Buffalo Soldiers, serving from 1949 to 1952.

Samson accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Wallace S. Hartsfield II.

Samson was employed by MoBay Chemical Company until retiring. He was united in marriage to Gloria Jean Frank who also preceded him in death. As a young man Samson loved to play baseball and was a excellent 1st baseman. Samson was a kind generous man who took pride in caring for his family. He will sorely missed and remembered by all those who loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Deborah Adair (Alonzo); three brothers, Chester Frank (Jimmie), Edward Frank (Bernice) and McKinley Frank (Margaret); two sisters, Adeline Dyer (Charles) and Claudette Frank; six grandsons, Steffone Frank, Karlton Lee, Tristian Gower, Kenneth Lee, Robert Clark, Jr. Chantez "Bart" Frank; two granddaughters, Kevion Gloria Frank and Ashley Weaver; a special daughter-in-law and friend, Patricia Frank-Clark and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, January 20, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
