Scipio P. Byers was born on October 1, 1933 in Cleveland, Arkansas to the late Fred & Emma (Morton) Byers. Scipio passed away peacefully in his sleep at home surrounded by his family on Dec. 6, 2020. Scipio was a faithful member of Swope Parkway Church of Christ. Scipio faithfully participated in the services of worship and loved working with the benevolence program until his health began to fail.
Scipio loved to play baseball he was a 3rd baseman. When Scip came to the plate to bat, the opposing team outfield would go waaay back!!! Scip had a reputation for knocking the ball out of the park.

When Scip's health prevented him from attending funerals, he had scouts to get him obituaries (you know who you are) which was his hobby, collecting obituaries, which came in handy when running down the family history.
