Mrs. Shirley Ann White was born in Plain Dealing, LA on February 20, 1945, to Matthew and Mamie DeBose. Her mother, father, husband Billy "Sack" White, sister Clarice Minton, sister Mary DeBose, sister Dorothy Lee Williams, brother Mack Philip DeBose preceded her in death.

Shirley attended public school in Plain Dealing, LA. She later moved to Kansas City, MO where she spent most of her adult life. After nineteen years of service at Senior Estate Nursing Home working beside her older sisters Clarice and Mary she retired. Shirley was very dedicated to helping and caring for sick and elderly patients which earned her the employee of the year award.

She was a loving, supportive, and giving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was a believer in Christ and raised in the Methodist Church.

She leaves to celebrate her homecoming and cherish her memories sister Claudette "Jackie" Johnson, daughter Mamie Phillips, stepdaughter Robyn Whitherspoon (Graham) Kansas City, MO, stepdaughter Chandra White Memphis, TN, son John Phillips (Carletta), son Ricky DeBose, stepson Howard White (Matilda), stepson Danny White Kansas City, MO, 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her best friend/sister Catherine Clark of Plain Dealing, LA.
