Sierra Monet Rucker-Theus, 29, KCMO, passed away on September 25, 2016. She was born May 11, 1987 to Edwin Rucker and Tonya Canady in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Hubert and Lorraine Rucker; maternal grandmother, Geraldine Canady; great aunt, Juanita Brooks; brother, Keith Hanson and brother-in-law, Robert Theus. Sierra was a lifelong resident of Kansas City. She received her education in the Kansas City Missouri public school district. Sierra had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up the room. Being the goofy one, she was the class clown and the one who would always make you smile. She enjoyed nothing more than being a mother. Her daughter, Arreis was her pride and joy whom she loved dearly. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Jerome Theus; daughter, Arries Hawkins; father, Edwin Rucker (Nicole); mother Tanya Canady (Darrell); brothers, Donovan Law, Antwone Hanson and Michael Hanson; uncles, Hubert Rucker, Jr., Chauncey Rucker and Raymond Rucker; aunts, Noreta Anderson and Jennifer Powell; great aunt, Mrs. Nettle Mae Birch; father-in-law, Robert Theus (Melody); mother-in-law, Toi Green; brothers-in-law, Montea Theus and Jermaine Green; sister-in-law, Toiauna Green; special friend, Diamond Hawkins; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends who knew and loved her dearly. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 8, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
