Stacy Annette (Morrison) Johnson, 49, passed away on June 1, 2018 at Research Medical Center. She was born January 5, 1969 to the union of Tracy L. Morrison, Sr. and Cloylet M. (Cox) Morrison in Kansas City, Missouri.
As a lifelong area resident, Stacy was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri public schools and was a graduate of Bishop Hogan High School. While at Bishop Hogan, her classmates voted her as prayer leader. After high school she furthered education at Avila College and the University of Central Missouri (formerly CMSU) in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Stacy was very conscientious and had a willingness to excel in any undertaking she was involved in. She attended Job Corp and continuously pursued higher learning. Stacy was employed at Sprint as customer service representative until her health began to fail.
Stacy was blessed as a child by Pastor Floyd Thuston at Boone Tabernacle Church of God in Christ. At the age of 5, she accepted Christ and was baptized at the Macedonia Baptist Church by the late Rev. Preston Allen, Jr. She was very active in her church attending Sunday school, B.T.U., singing in the children's and youth choir, and serving on usher board.
In 1998, Stacy met Roy E. Johnson, Jr. and the two were united in marriage on September 2, 2000. He loved her so much and walked with her throughout her illness. After they were married she united with the Boone Tabernacle Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop L. F. Thuston. She truly loved the Lord, and found joy in serving the church and singing in the adult choir.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Roy E. Johnson, Jr.; three sons, DeWayne L. Morrison, Roy E. Johnson III and Andre Johnson (Pamela); three daughters, Jacquelyn S. Johnson (Perry), Quianna M. Johnson, all of Kansas City, MO and Cubie Temple of California; father, Tracy L. Morrison, Sr. (Brenda) and mother, Cloylet M. Wilson (Paul) both of Kansas City, MO; four brothers, Tracy L. Morrison, Jr. (Lisa), Kenneth Morrison, Melvin Morrison and Christopher Morrison, all of Kansas City, MO; thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren;father-in-law, Eugene Rushing, Sr.; mother-in-law, Helen Rushing; and a host of uncles, aunts nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services Friday, June 8, 11:00 a.m. at Boone Tabernacle Church of God in Christ. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.Visits: 0
