Tayro A. Stevenson, lovingly known as Chris, was born on Wednesday, February 26, 1975, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, to Ora Lee Stevenson and Tayro Christanio. He departed this life on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Belton Regional Medical Center, surrounded by the love of his family. Chris was a proud Kansas City native who grew up in a close-knit family. He attended Sanford B. Ladd Elementary, Central Junior High, and graduated from Central High School in 1993. It was during these years that Chris made lasting friendships and became known for his infectious smile and kind spirit. His personality lit up every room he walked into, and he had a way of making everyone around him feel special. Throughout his teenage years, Chris worked at Footlocker in the Town Pavilion for 10 years as an assistant manager. He later became the store manager at Athletic Attic, where he continued to build strong relationships with his coworkers and customers. After deciding to make a career change, Chris pursued his real estate license, passing his exam with the same determination and focus that he put into everything he did.

Chris is survived by his parents, Tayro Christanio (Joyce) and Ora Lee Stevenson; his loving wife, Kanetha Stevenson; his daughter, Tehya Stevenson; his son, Tayro Stevenson Jr.; his brothers, Darrell Stevenson, Kareem Powell, and Dennis Conrad; his sisters, Monica Henderson (Brian), Akeela Maybery, and Denise Conrad, and one granddaughter Jadyn Johnson all of Kansas City, MO. He also leaves behind a host of family, friends, and colleagues who will deeply miss his kindred spirit.
