Tenola Hampton (Tarr) was born October 11, 1950 in Greensburg, Louisiana to Cornelius & Marie Hampton.

She attended school in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School District.

She was married to Ronald Tyrone Tarr, with this union 2 children were born, Ronald Hampton & Yolanda Hampton.

Tenola accepted Christ as her personal Lord & Savior of which she became a long time member of Haven of Rest Baptist Church, under the guidance of Pastor Nathaniel Nelson.

She was known for being a good cook and when she was able would make Louisiana style gumbo, as well as other great dishes for many family and friends.

Tenola was a dedicated mom that protected her children at any cost. In her free time she would play board games, coloring and other activities with her kids.

She was a very strong and ambitious woman. Her hobby's were reading & studying the word of God, going to church and spending time with her family.

On November 14, 2020, Tenola gained her wings.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cornelius and Marie Hampton. Two brothers, O'Neal Hampton, Bernell Hampton, and one sister Corneal (Connie) Hampton-Lewis.

She is survived by her 4 children, Nan B. Hampton, Ronald T. Hampton, Yolanda S. Hampton (Walker), Martine S. Tarr.; 2 sisters, Nan Lewis, Patricia Simpson; 1 brother, Wayne Hampton; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 28, 2020, 2 pm at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation 1 pm - 2 pm. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
