Terry Groves, Sr., 64, was born on February 12, 1955 to the union of Charles and Vernastine Groves in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Groves and younger brother, Fernandez Groves.

Terry was a lifelong area resident and was educated in the Kansas City Missouri public schools. He was employed by the Grandview School District for twenty years as an environmental technician.

Terry was well known among his family and friends for his ability to work hard and his display of kindness. He never met a stranger.

Terry departed this life on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Redwood of Blue River Rehabilitation Center.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his life partner, Claudia Bates; three sons, Terry Groves, Jr. (Cheron), Cortez Groves and Demetrius Hooker, Kansas City, MO; mother, Vernastine Groves; two brothers, Reginald Groves and Antione Groves; one sister, Shanita Groves, all of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Marquez D. Groves, Sr., Dalonn Groves, D'Jea Jackson and K'Myah Stuart; three great grandchildren, Marquez D. Groves, Jr., Marlei' D. Groves and Matai D. Groves, and a host of nephews, Nieces other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, November 16, 2:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
