Terry Lee Purse, 61, was born to James and Dorothy Purse in Kansas City, Missouri on April 1, 1956. Preceding him in death were his father, James Purse and brother, Mark Purse. Terry was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School District, from Seven Oaks to graduating from Central High School in 1974. Following graduation, he was hired by the United States Postal Service where he retired after serving 39 years. Terry had a strong faith in the Lord and was mindful of being Christ-like throughout his life. He was a hard worker, admirable provider, proud dad, loving brother and son. He was a pillar of strength in his family and will be greatly missed. At his leisure, you would find him listening to music, watching the horse races and reading the paper. He was an avid reader. He exhibited his deep passion for his family by his unconditional love, comfort and a life full of laughter. He had a hearty and infectious laugh. When you heard it, you couldn't help but to join in or smile. The light of his smile warmed the hearts of those around him. Terry departed this earthly life on September 6, 2017 at his home. He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Damian Purse (Stephanie) of Kathleen, GA; Terris Purse and Bryant Purse (Bridget) both of Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Veronica McGill (Brodrick) of Cumming, GA; mother, Dorothy Purse of Kansas City, MO; one brother, Dennis Purse (Rita); one sister, Lisa Purse; five grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, uncle, cousins and friends. Funeral services Saturday, September 16, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment pending. Visitation 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E.
