Thadis M. Wright, 88, was the second child born to Phelix H. Wright, Sr. and Ruth E. Cravens on November 27, 1929, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by both parents, brother, Phelix Wright, Jr.; son, Ronald Wallace; and grandchildren, Damon Kimes and Lisa L. Wilson. She was educated in the public school system of Hot Springs, graduating from Langston High School.

Thadis always loved caring for and helping others. That love and nurturing was reflected in her more than 30 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Queen of the World Hospital and Baptist Memorial Hospital. She retired to help raise her grandchildren, Ronnita and Ronda.

Thadis had five children, Freda L. Wilson (Robert), Pittsburgh, PA, Michael E. Wright, Sr., Kansas City, MO, Freda Wallace, Kansas City, MO, Ronald Wallace (deceased), and Donald W. Wallace, Dallas, TX. She loved her children and often had two or three jobs to provide for them. She is remembered fondly as a wonderful cook, especially desserts.

Thadis was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist church in 1952 at the old Beacon Light SDA Church. She had a strong faith, taught her children and grandchildren about Jesus, and sacrificed to ensure a good education in Adventist schools. Thadis loved to sing and shared her voice with solos and sang in the choir. A few of her favorite hymns were, "Lord, I Hear of Showers Of Blessings (Even Me)", "Under His Wings", "He Knows Just How Much We Can Bear" and "My Heavenly Father Watches Over Me".

Thadis departed this life peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, April 22, 2018, with her daughters Freda and Sue at her side.

Thadis left an example of love, nurturing, and care of others to her family. She will be missed by her children; siblings: Lawrence G. Wright, Sr. and O. Faye Elmore; grandchildren: Ericka L. Williams, Ramon D. Johnson (K'Li), Juanette M. Wright, Calvin Reese (Sarah), Avery L. Snelling, Lawrence A. Wallace (Pam), Toya L. Wilson, Michael E. Wright, Jr., Ryan Wallace, Arica L. Williams, Ronnita D. Wallace (Aaron), Ronda N. M. Wallace, and Marisha N. Stewart; great grandchildren, many cousins, nephews, nieces, other family and friends.
