Thelma Brown, 72, passed away on August 25, 2018 at the home. She was born September 28, 1945, in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Mac and Elizabeth Brown. Both parents and one sister, Ledora Harris preceded her in death.

Thelma received her education in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She then moved to Kansas City in 1965 with her son, Carl Brown. She continued her education and received her cosmetology license in 1967. Later she received her nursing license in 1988, and worked in the health field until she retired in 2012.

Thelma leaves to mourn her passing: one son, Carl Brown (Doretha) of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Keona, Carl Jr., Michael all of Kansas City, MO, and Jermaine of Atchison, KS; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Idelia Thomas (Robert) Eula of Kansas, Jessie Burch of Zion, IL; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Friday, September 7, 1:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
