Thurman Mitchell, 61, passed away on May 9, 2016. He was born March 16, 1955 to James and Jannie M. Riley in Kansas City, Missouri. He received his formal education through the Kansas City Public School System. Thurman was currently employed through a private general contractor. Thurman was truly a man of many talents such as cooking and laying out a house; you name it just ask 'Mr. Belvedere'. His grandchildren always stole his heart. That Thurman smile would light up a room, and $49.95 could even get you a plate without a fuss (ha-ha). He was always known as smooth when he was younger, because he always wore Apple caps and squared glassed. His life was so full yet so short. Although he will be physically missed by all, he will forever remain in our hearts. Our family light has flickered once again, but it shall continue to shine. Thurman was preceded in death by his fathers, James Riley and Freddie Evans; son, Tramon White; brothers, Willie Mitchell, Frederick Mitchell and sister, Maureen Riley. He is survived by his children, Tramon Bennett, DaDwyna Mitchell, Taishea white, Danielle Ansley and Ebony Ansley; siblings, Bernice Mitchell, Gernice Nunn (James), Terry Mitchell, Carolyn Mitchell, Kevin Mitchell, James Earl Riley (Cortney) and Darrell Evans; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Private disposition. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E.
