Timothy A.
White
Jun 21, 1956 — Mar 4, 2020
Timothy Allen White was born June 21, 1956 in Albany, New York. He was baptized at an early age at Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He regularly attended bible study and prayer meeting and faithfully sang in the choir for some fifty years helping to hold down the tenor section. In the Fall of 2019 he united with the Fellowship Right Missionary Baptist Church where he continued to attend Bible Study and sing in the choir.
Tim was educated in the KCMO School District attending Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School, Lincoln Middle School, and graduated from Lincoln High School in May 1974 in which he won the title "Best Dressed." After graduating high school, he then followed his Uncle Marshall's footsteps and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he was a squad leader known as "lead man." He was honorably discharged and took pride in saying, "Semper fi, do or die"!
Tim was employed by General Motors and Western Electric for years. He later in life went on to work in the janitorial field in several health care facilities with an expertise in floor care and could put a shine on a floor like no other. In 2015, he took disability retirement due to complications with his health.
Tim was known throughout the KC metro area as: Big Ticket, The Winning Ticket, Mean Joe Green TWhite, and fondly: Daddy, Uncle Timmy, Timmy and AhPa. Tim has always been a very sharp dresser and always had on the smell goods. Not many men can wear a pink Dobbs, pink shoes and carry a man bag all of which he did well and took pride in. He had a thing about keeping his vehicle shining, rather it was 10 degrees or 100 degrees outside, just about on any given day you could find him putting that spit shine on his vehicle. Two-stepping was one of his favorite pass times to the sounds of his favorite R&B recording artist Will Downing. He really enjoyed listening to and singing gospel music and favored music by the Canton Spirituals.
Timmy enjoyed hanging out and spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching his favorite sports/teams the Kansas City Chiefs, KU Jayhawks and boxing.
In December 2003, he met and fell in love with his soulmate, Twyla Depriest. They enjoyed two stepping, Peach Tree on Sundays, crab legs at the boat, SHOPPING, and spending time with their grandkids, nieces and nephews. They just enjoyed life together.
Timmy joined the tenor section of heaven's choir on Wednesday, March 4, 2020.
Preceding him in death were: his parents; Hiawatha White, Gloria and Wesley Hewitt, grandparents; Estelle and Robert Davis, sister; Alberta Hewitt, nephew; Ryan Stokes and Godmother; Louise Jones
Leaving to cherish his memory and celebrate his homegoing are:Twyla DePriest (soulmate); daughter/granddaughters; Lenora (Mark), Lauren, Gabrielle; Marla (Michael) Jayden, Jorden; Brother; Dewey (Dorothy) Byrd; Sisters; Narene Kidd, Annette (Curtis) Taylor; nieces/nephews; Kwasi, Tasha, Keshia, Crystal and Monie; uncle; Marshall (Lisa) Davis; aunt; Joan (Russell) McIntosh and a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends and man's best friend, Cookie.
