Timothy E.
Woods
Oct 20, 1971 — Nov 9, 2017
Timothy Eugene Woods was born Wednesday, October 20, 1971 at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the first of three sons to Jimmie Earl and Ruth Yvonne Walker-Woods. Tim was the grandson of the late Ferdinand and Algoma M. Stanton-Walker, and Jones L. and Verneal McClelland-Woods. He was the nephew to the late Ronnie E. Walker, Kenneth L. Woods, Rosa Lee Woods, Barbara Ann and John Miller. His beloved father Jimmie Earl departed this life on February 20, 2012.
Tim accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized by the late Reverend Sinclair S. Thompson at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in 1983.
Tim was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School District. He graduated in 1990 from Southwest High School, and then attended Longview Community College. Tim was later employed at Longview Community College and was a very dependable employee.
Tim was blessed with an amazing personality and a smile that would light up a room. When he said, "I Got You", that's exactly what he meant. He was a movie buff who enjoyed his music and was an avid sport fan. Tim's favorite football team was the Philadelphia Eagles and he also enjoyed boxing. Tim loved family. His daughter Kenne'dee, who he affectionately called "Dee Dee", was the joy of life. He took care of the first "Queen" of his life, his mother, after his father passed and took the big brother role to heart looking out for his brothers.
Tim was united in holy matrimony to Demicco E. Witherspoon-Woods. Later their marriage was dissolved and they remained friends.
On Thursday, November 9, 2017 the Lord called his son Timothy home. We thank God for Tim's short 46 years that was shared by his mother, daughter, brothers, family and many friends. Our hearts now have an empty place but his love and laughter will live on forever. He leaves to cherish his memory: a daughter Kenne'dee Woods of Kansas City, MO; his mother, Ruth Y. Woods of the home; brothers, Rodney D. and Jason L. Woods of Grandview, MO; uncles and aunts: Michael A. Walker (Marquita) of Lees Summit, MO, Larry R. Walker Mary Esther, FL, Michelle A. Walker of Overland Park, KS, Doris J. Woods-May of Augusta, GA, Denise Glasco of Independence, MO and Joanetta "Tootie" Rembert; special uncle, Willie Ray Williams and a host of cousins and many friends.
