Tommy Lee Jewitt, born November 10, 1933, in Shreveport, LA, a devoted father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2023, surrounded by his children and grandchildren in Lee's Summit, MO.

He is survived by his daughters Terri Jewitt and Djuana Jewitt of Atlanta, GA and son Thomas Jewitt of Lee's Summit, MO, granddaughters Ryann Jet of Atlanta, GA, and Jordan Gleaton of Los Angeles, CA, brothers J.T. Jewitt (Jean) of Shreveport, LA, George Larks (Elaine) of Queen Creek, AZ, Jewell Jewitt (Ivory) of Shreveport, LA, and Leon Jewitt (Vera) of Shreveport, LA, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Clarice Jewitt, parents John L. Jewitt and Carrie Hartwell, sisters Katie Reed (Grady - deceased) and Mercides Phills (James -deceased), and brother John L. Jewitt (Betty).

Tommy served as a Radarman, 2nd-Class in the United States Navy and graduated from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and from the University of Central Missouri with a Masters of Business Administration. He was employed by Bendix/Allied-Signal/Honeywell Federal Manufacturing and Technology in Kansas City for 27 years. Tommy was one of the first four Bendix employees to earn certification from the American Society for Quality in 1979.

Tommy volunteered with Junior Achievement and served as Scoutmaster, Unit Commissioner, and Assistant District Commissioner with the Boy Scouts of America. He was a charter founder of Pack and Troop 1054, and was a Keeper of the Wampum in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Tommy was a dedicated member of his church and was a founding member of the Catholic Serra Club of Southeast Kansas City.
