Tonya Marie Robinson was born August 12, 1977, in Trenton, Michigan to Terry Robinson and Bruce
Tolliver. Tonya was accompanied by a twin sister, Tiffany. Although their mother did not expect to have
two daughters, she was overjoyed. Tonya and Tiffany moved with their mother to St. Louis, Missouri in
1982.
Tonya enjoyed her life spending time with family and friends. She was mild-tempered and sincere, fast
to make friends. She was known for her hugs and love of God. Tonya also loved to draw, she learned as
a child. She used her talents to create calendars, business cards, and logos for shirts, hats, and cups on
her online website.
As a child, Tonya had some mental and physical disabilities. Tonya wore a back brace throughout high
school due to scoliosis. In spite of that Tonya participated in the marching band at Sumner High, played
the flute and joined the softball team at Gateway Institute of Technology. She graduated from Gateway
in 1995.
She was accepted into the Electronics program at Central Missouri State University (CMSU) but decided
to major in Graphic Arts. She graduated with a Bachelors in Graphic Arts in 2002.
While at CMSU, Tonya joined a church affiliated with the Kansas City Church of Christ, where she met
Rose-Anna Miller (Cobb). Tonya and Rose-Anna became close as sisters and adopted each other as
family.
Tonya moved from Warrensburg to Kansas City with her twin in 2004. She worked for various
companies; IRS, MMMM, USA800, FedEx, RGIS, and Lyft. She continued to attend church with Rose-Anna at the Kansas City Church of Christ until about 2015. They later became Sabbath keepers and joined in fellowship with Children of Yahweh in Yahshua Messiah in Eldon, MO. Tonya met with several local Sabbath keeping congregations throughout the following years, most notably The Word and The Way and the Kansas City Church of God.
In December 2005, Tonya met her future husband, Colin O'Brien, at a church function held at Benjamin
Ranch. They danced all night and courted for five years. They married on March 27, 2010, in Lenexa,
Kansas. Tonya and Colin loved each other dearly. Colin passed unexpectedly on July 23, 2022. Almost a
month later Tonya passed from lymphoma on August 20, 2022.
She and Colin will truly be missed. Left to cherish Tonya's memory are her mother, Terry Robinson.
