Trent Michael
Wesley
Feb 2, 1950 — Sep 22, 2024
Trent Michael Wesley was born on February 2, 1950, to Bertha Wesley in Menifee, Arkansas. Bertha, affectionately known as "MeMe Levels," was his cherished mother and preceded him in death.
Educated within the Kansas City Public School District, Trent graduated from Paseo High School in 1968. As a Paseo Pirate, he earned a Varsity Letterman distinction in both track and football throughout all four years. His athletic prowess was evident as he ran the 4x400 relay, excelled in the long jump, and played as an outside linebacker on the football field. Trent furthered his education at Penn Valley Community College, where he obtained an Associate's Degree in Business.
Trent honorably served two years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, receiving The National Defense Service Medal for his service. Following his tour of duty, he joined the Veterans Administration Hospital, where he dedicated himself as the Chief Dialysis Technician until his retirement in 2012.
On March 20, 1972, Trent married his high school sweetheart, Yovanda "Bonnie" Wesley, who also preceded him in death. Their union was blessed with two sons, Darion Wesley and Trent Monte Wesley. A devoted father, Trent ensured that his sons never missed a practice or game as they chased their baseball dreams. He was a constant presence at their games, often spotted with a portable TV and a lawn chair, and his proud exclamation of "WHEW!" could be heard whenever they made a great play or hit.
Trent's life was marked by simplicity and a deep sense of responsibility towards his family, the care for his mother, and the well-being of his brothers, roles in which he excelled. An avid reader with a passion for politics, Trent also found joy in fishing, spending many summer days at Pomona Lake with his in-laws, John and Wanda Brown, after the baseball season.
Trent's journey came to a close on September 22, 2024. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Darion and Lorraine Wesley, Trent and Anshul Wesley, his granddaughter Taj Wesley, his brothers Derrald Levels, Robert Levels, and Delayne Levels, his Aunt Annette George, a host of friends and family members, and his Grand Pups Chief, Bear, and Binny
Trent was a great man that live a simple life, and he will be missed
