Trina Suzette Taylor, 63, passed away at the University of Kansas Hospital on June 2, 2019. She was born January 9, 1956 in Marion, Indiana to Thomas and Sue Taylor. The eldest of three children, she was the constant companion of her brother Bilal and watchful angel of her sister Fawna. Trina attended and graduated from Southeast High School in 1974. Afterwards she attended Avila College and CSMU, and pursued a nursing career at St. Joseph Hospital. Trina later worked as a member of the medical staff at the V.A. Hospital from which she retired in 2018. A devoted mother, Trina worked tirelessly to ensure her children were afforded many positive life experiences and advantages. She also loved gardening and crafting. Her hobbies were an outward expression of how her life brought joy and beauty to others. She was a member and frequent volunteer at Good Samaritan Baptist Church, where she served in several ministries. In her transition she leaves her children: Amere and Sara Taylor; parents, Tom and Sue Taylor; brother, Bilal Muhammed (Aracelis) and children, Luqman, Sadiq, Qayyimah, Raeesah, Raiya and Imani Muhammed); sister, Fawna Taylor-Jenkins and children, Chancellor, Alexis, Avis, Lauren and Zuleika (Christian)); sister, Tomisha Ballew and children, Nyla and Tyra; as well as great nephews, nieces and a host of cousins, family and friends.
