Veronica L. Byers was born on September 17, 1967 in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Booker T. Byers and Verbina Johnson Banks. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers.

Veronica attended Kansas City Public School District, she was employed by Woodley Building Maintenance Service for twenty-five years.

Veronica spent her life here and near her family and friends. She loved gospel music and would often tell family, "Y'all better get right with GOD!'

Veronica loved her blues, she enjoyed cooking and hanging out with her family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory: five daughters, Nicole L. Johnson, Tamika C. Byers, Tiaesha M. Hudson, Whitney L. Hudson and Tiara S. Hudson; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; four sisters, Terry L. Anderson, Patricia A. Johnson, LaVonnie Johnson and Yvette R. Johnson; three brothers, Ronald Johnson, Vince E. Johnson and Anthony E. Johnson; her life partner, Chuck Fares; a host of nephews,nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service next Saturday, January 11, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at New Vision. Interment XII Gates Memorial. Visitation 9:00 -11:00 a.m. at the church. Service conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors.Condolences may be shared on our website.
