Victoria Celeste Lewis, 62, was born on May 7, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Arthur and Margaret (Keeling) Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, (mommy) Dorothy Keeling; sister, Dorothy Mitchell and brother, Anthony Mitchell. Victoria "Vickie" accepted Christ at an early age, attending Central Christian Church which began her strong walk of faith.
Vickie went to Lincoln High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She began her work experience with the Kansas City Missouri School District in the Early Childhood Program. Later she worked for the Jones Department Store (now Macy's), where she retired after 25 years. After retirement she then started her new journey at Central Bank until her illness. Vickie married Phillip "Brother" Lewis on January 15, 1981; he preceded her in death, July 2009. To this union they had two sons, Brandon and Stephen Lewis both of Kansas City, MO. Vickie lived a full life that she devoted unselfishly to her family and friends. She loved cooking and enjoyed watching her favorite sport, football, with family and friends; she was a die-hard Chiefs Fan. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing darts and hanging out with friends. She was loved and cherished by the Kaw Boys Motorcycle Club where she was a member and dedicated to the Midnight Star Motorcycle Club.
After a brief illness and a strong fight, she departed her life on January 26, 2018 with her son and loving family member by her side. Cherishing her memories and celebrating her life are: two sons, Brandon (Katrina) Lewis and Stephen Lewis of Kansas City, MO; one sister, Debra Watson of Kansas City, MO; seven grandchildren, Brandon Lewis, Kevin Thompson, Leondre Thompson , Dwayne Lewis, Brayden Lewis, Bree'ya Lewis, and Justine Green all of Kansas City, MO and six great grandchildren; one aunt, Patricia Mitchell; three nephews, Robert Watson, Terrill Mitchell, Eric Mitchell all of Kansas City, MO; four nieces, Felicia Mitchell, Brandy Watson both of Kansas City, MO, Marcella Mitchell and Rena Mitchell of California; a very special friend who she loved like a sister, Glenda Bushnell; and a host of cousins, great nephew and nieces, extended family, and friends.
Funeral services Saturday, February 10, 2:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Private disposition. Visitation 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.Visits: 0
