Voyce Stanley Jones, 86, was born March 10, 1930, the youngest son to the union of the late James Isaac Jones and Jessie Marie Renick, in Warrensburg, Missouri. He was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Jones; three sisters, Virginia Lee Childs, Beverly Jane Hardin and Dorothy Louise Anderson. Voyce accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized by Pastor Scott on the same day he surrendered his life to Christ, along with a cousin Val Jean, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Warrensburg, Missouri. He served faithfully on the usher board ministry for many years. Upon moving to Kansas City, Voyce found his former pastor of Shiloh, Rev. J.B. Randolph who had organized Gethsemane Baptist Church, and joined. He served at Gethsemane faithfully for over fifty years having served as an usher and trustee, in the pantry and culinary ministries as chief cook, and as a custodian which he retired from on January 1, 2016. Voyce departed this life on November 1, 2016 at the Life Care Center of Grandview. He is survived by one son, Voyce Stanley Faison, Sr.; five grandchildren, Voyce Stanley Faison, Jr., Cameron Faison, Dornell Faison, Dajane Faison and Marvell Faison; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 12, 11:00 a.m. at Gethsemane New Testament Baptist Church. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
