A Time to be Born Monday, October 18, 1936 in New Orleans, LA., Zeola Kingston and Sanders Butler, Sr. welcomed their baby son, Walter Scott Butler, Sr. A Time to Die Tuesday, April 25, 2017, God called his son home. A Time to Plant Mr. Walter Scott Butler, Sr. was an extraordinary man. He lived a life full of joy, passion, and dedication. He had a passion for family, success, and food! He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Growing up in New Iberia, LA., he grew up in a family full of love. After graduating from Henderson High School, Mr. Butler joined the United States Air Force, trained as an aircraft mechanic, and served for over 30 years. Because of his passion for making a difference, he continued to use his Criminal Justice degree by serving as a sheriff in Jackson County Missouri. Over the past 80 years, Walter Scott Butler, Sr. touched many hearts and made a difference in so many people's lives. His compassion, knowledge, love and wisdom will live forever. A Time to Love Friday, April 24, 2009, he united in holy matrimony with his lifelong love Mrs. Earnestine Tyler-Butler. A Time to Mourn Left to cherish his endearing memory, sweet spirit, unconditional love and strong dedication are his wife, Earnestine Butler; 4 sons: Walter Butler, Jr. (Verna) of Schertz, TX, Christopher Butler, Sr. (Ramonda) of Grandview, MO, Dewayne Tyler and SFC Darin Tyler of Kansas City, MO; 1 daughter: Lucretia Butler of Little Rock, AR and step-daughter, Marilyn Hampton (Wayne) of Milwaukee, WI;1 brother: Sanders Butler, Jr.; 2 sisters: Mrs. Marie Moses and Mrs. Mildred Moore; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. He was met on the other side by parents; sister, Cora Lee Noble; brothers, Rudolph Butler, Willie Jacko, Riley Junior, and Frank Martin; and a host of other family members and friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 4, 10:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
