Walter Leroy Harris, Jr., 52, was born July 28, 1964 to Rosetta and Walter Leroy Harris, Sr. His father; step-father, Ervin Clark; paternal and maternal paternal grandparents; and step-brother, Eugene Clark, preceded him in death. Walter gave his life to Christ at early age and attended St. John's Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Gladney. Walter graduated from Jonesboro Hurricane High School in Arkansas and began working for Riceland Rice for ten years until his health failed. Walter was united in holy matrimony to Mona Island in 1987. To their union two children were born, Christopher O'Brian and Kiearra Nicole. On November 18, 2016, Walter departed his earthly home. He will be deeply missed. He leaves behind: his loving mother, Rosetta Harris Clark; two children, Christopher and Kiearra (Will), Jonesburo, AR; one granddaughter, Kaaliyah; ex-wife, Mona Harris; two aunts, Irma Hamm of St. Louis, MO and Ann Cunningham of Kansas City, MO; one great uncle, Napoleon Barnes (Barbara); one great aunt, Geneva Greenfield (Lloyd); one step-brother, Gary Tyson of Huntsville, TX; two step- sisters, Shirley Richardson of Kansas City, MO and Helen Law of Las Vegas, NV; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends including the wonderful residents of the Opportunity Pavilion. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 23, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
