Obituary

Our beloved mother and exceptional grandmother, Waymeth Joyce Jordan, was born on February 23, 1927, to Simmie Robert Tobin and Agnes Henrietta Tobin in Plattsburg, Missouri. She was the youngest of three children.

In her childhood, she received her elementary education in Plattsburg, Missouri, and her high school education in the Kansas City School District, graduating from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1945.

She went on to meet the love of her life, Gerald B. Jordan. They married and were together for 68 years. Together they enjoyed traveling, sports, fishing, bowling, and golfing, but her number one hobby was shopping.

She began her federal career with the Internal Revenue Service, later transitioning to the Social Security Administration. After years of working, she eventually took early retirement.

Sister Joyce Jordan was a faithful member of the Greater Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board, Senior Women's Missionary Union, and Sunday School teaching.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Simmie Tobin and Agnes Tobin, her brothers, Matthew Evans and Lloyd Tobin, her daughter, Sharon Green also known as Regina Morris, and her husband, Gerald Jordan.
