Obituary

The Family of Wayne Tate would like to announce the passing of their loved one. Wayne was known throughout the city as an advocate for his community. He could be seen feeding the homeless, cutting his neighbors grass and cleaning the streets around his home. He absolutely loved ensuring that his community had a sense of pride, and that each person knew there was always someone who would care about their wellbeing. In honor of his dedication to the community, he recently received "The Game Changer Award" from the Calvary Community Outreach Network for his exemplary community service.

Wayne's first love was his family. There was no secret the apple of his eye was his daughter, Kierra, until March 2019 when his grandson "The Numbers Man" Kingston, was born. Before having his own offspring, he was the unofficial boss of his six brothers, who he loved dearly. Though he only had six siblings, Wayne managed to collect quite a few brothers and sisters along the route of life. This was a man who truly never met a stranger.

Wayne Tate was born August 9, 1957, to Cleota Tate in Spart, IL. He was the fourth of seven brothers. After graduating from Sparta High, he later moved to Kansas City where he was employed by Union Pacific Railroad. He worked there for several years before moving on to Bayer Corp. where he spent most of his professional career until he retired.

Wayne was preceeded in death by his mother Cleota Tate and brothers Ronald Tate, Sr., and Timothy Tate.

Wayne is survived by his daughter Kierra; grandson Kingston; four brothers John (Sherry), Gregory (Sandy), David (Jalannia) and James.
