Wendell Mitchem, 77 of Kansas City, MO passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Wendell Mitchem, 77 was born on August 29, 1943 in Morrilton, Arkansas to the parents, Elbert and Lucille(Williams) Mitchem. He attended Elementary School and graduated from Conway County Training School . Wendell moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1962 and started working for Montgomery Wards and Sears Company. In 1964, Wendell married Berry and to that union one daughter, Angela was born. He was a member at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and held the position of Trustee, working in the Finance Room, sing in the choir, under the leadership of W.S. McGee, until his health began to fell him. He loved his Church and spoiling his grandchildren. Both his parents, Elbert Mitchem, Lucille Williams, step mom, Gracie Hawkins; His brothers & sisters, Bill Mitchem, Amos Mitchem, Waymon Mitchem, Adell Mitchem, Rena Ward Mitchem, Johnny Criswell, Ezell Mitchem, Ben Morris, Elbert Miles preceded him in death. On Wednesday, August 18, 2021 Wendell Mitchem was called home to be forever present with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory; His loving wife of 57years, Linda Mitchem; his daughter, Angela Lewis(Ledell); granddaughter, Porsha; grandson, Kendell; great granddaughter, Nionna and great grandson, Namire; his sisters and brothers; Lois Kukcinovich, Phildephia, PA; Gracie Mitchem Williams(Donald) Forrest City, AR; Ruby Mitchem Jackson, Grandview, MO; Howard Mitchem (Marsha) Blue Springs, MO; Albert Mitchem(Lannie) Raytown, MO; Richard Morris(Jackie) Solgohachia, AR; James Mitchem, KCMO; Spain Mitchem, Grandview, MO; Jewel Mitchem, Kansas City, MO; Kenneth Criswell, Morrilton, AR: Emmett Mitchem, Morrilton; A host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday August 27, 2021 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation 9:00 a.m. - 11. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Services provided by Duane E.
