Willa L. Walton, 68, was born on January 5, 1951 to the union of Will H. Elion and Harriette L. (Reed) Elion in Kansas City, Kansas. Her father, mother and one brother, James A. Rentie preceded her in death.

Willa was educated in the Kansas City Missouri public schools and was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1969. She furthered her education at Northwest Missouri State University. She was united in marriage to Tommy Walton and to this union a daughter was born. Willa was an educator in the Kansas City Missouri Public School District until she retired. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Willa departed this life on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Truman Lakewood Care Center. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Shelley Walton-Lewis of Wichita, KS; two sisters, Beatrice E. Mosley (William) of Suisun City, CA and Harryetta Allen (Freddie) of Kansas City, MO; brother-in-law, Darryl A. Walton of Houston, TX; two grandsons, Thaddeus J. Lewis of DFW, TX and Thomas J. Lewis of Kansas City, MO; three lifelong friends, Diane Dixon and Pearline McFall of Kansas City, MO and Jackie Hughes of Baltimore, MD; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
