Obituary

William Carey 'Billy Junior' Henderson, 53, was the first of two children born to William and Juanita Roseberry Henderson Holmes. He was born at Queen of the World Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri on October 24, 1962. He graduated from East High School and went on to work for the Kansas City Election Board until sickness caused his disability. At an early age, Billy accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and was baptized at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church under the pastorage of Reverand Edward L. Brown. He attended Pilgrim Rest for most of his youthful years. Billy was, by definition, a 'momma's boy'. He loved spending time with his mother as well as family and friends. He enjoyed road trips and listening to music both alone, and with family and friends. On September 10, 2016 at Truman Medical Center, our heavenly Father called Billy home to glory. Both parents and one sister, LaRhonda Jones preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his death: three brothers, Derek Henderson (Stephanie), Gene 'Chopper' Holmes, Jr. (Tanya) and Laron Berry; four sisters, Gloria Willams, Tonya 'Pattie Cake' Henderson, Shalonda Henderson and Keisha Holmes; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Memorial services will be Friday, September 16, 11:00 a.m. at Shalom Missionary Baptist Church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
