William Alfred Nunley, 79, passed away on September 29, 2017 surrounded by family at his home. He was born May 15, 1938 in Yahola, Oklahoma to the late Alfred A. and Effie V. (Crittenton) Nunley. He was preceded in death by eight siblings, Flora Nunley, Nolan Nunley, Frank Nunley, Fred Nunley, Betty Reed, Ina Mae Cope, Kathryn Nunley and Edna Major; and a grandson, Jarred Spalding Wilborn. William was educated in the public schools of Taft, Oklahoma. He accepted Christ and was a member of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. After forty-one years of service, he retired from J.E. Dunn Construction and was a member of the Construction Worker Local 264. He was a handyman who could build anything. William was united in marriage to Ms. Elsa M. Grimmit on September 8, 1969. He was truly a wonderful family man who loved singing and music, especially jazz and blues. He also enjoyed picnics in the park. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Elsa Nunley of the home; three daughters, DeRonda Nunley of Moreno Valley, CA, LaDonna Nunley of Lee's Summit, MO and Cathy Fields (Darryl) of Kansas City, MO; one sister, Effie Jean Milam of Frisco, TX; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services Saturday, October 14, 2:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Visitation 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E.
