Willie James Richard, Jr., 81, was born August 13, 1930 to Willie James Richard, Sr. and Sally Cobbin Richard. He was the eldest of six siblings. His parents preceded him in death. Willie accepted Christ at an early age at Greenwood Mississippi Church of God in Christ. One of the highlights of his life was going to Sunday School and playing the organ. He also served as a greeter at the door and loved telling the visitors about Jesus. Willie worked for American Airlines, formerly known as TWA, retiring in 1992. Willie met his wife, Betty Antat and the two were married on February 13, 1972. To this union twin daughters were born, Sheila and Shirley. Mr. Willie Richard, Jr. departed this life on July 4, 2017. He leaves to cherish his precious memory: his wife of 45 years, Betty Richard of the home; two daughters, Sheila Porter (Richard) and Shirley Johnson (Derrick Sr.) all of Kansas City, MO; eight precious grandchildren, John Thompson (Betsy) of Marlene, IL., Jeremiah, Ramiah, Serenity, Kaylee, Anastasia, D. J. and Emily all of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Sally Mae Wellington of Chicago, IL and Maddie Mosley Greer of Miami, FL; nephew, John Richard of Miami, FL; a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends. Funeral services will be Monday, July 10, 11:00 a.m. at International House of Mercy. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
