Zera Darina Davis was born July 10, 1982 in Kansas City, MO to Claudette Dorsey and Matheno Frazier-Bey. Zera was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, MO. She attended Northwest Missouri State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Zera had many distinct lifetime accomplishments. At the age of seventeen she received an "Exceptional Public Service Award" from the Department of Treasury for having intercepted counterfeit notes at work in Kansas City. As a result, she was invited to Washington D.C. to unveil the ten and five dollar US currency that hallmark new and modified security aspects to deter counterfeiting. She was featured on CNN. Zera was the first in the family to purchase a house at the young age of 21. She took partnership with her husband in creating their family business AZ Exterior Solutions, LLC where she managed all administrative activities. Zera attended Experiencing God's Word and assisted the Children and Food ministries. She was a member of the Association for Improvement of Minorities in IRS. She was the Chairperson of the KC Public Information Committee and a member of the National Souvenir Book Committee. She also volunteered with VITA to process taxes.
Zera was married to Antonio Shone Davis, on October 3, 2009. She was employed by the State of Missouri as an educator at Winnetonka High School teaching Family Consumer Science. She was employed by the Department of Treasury - IRS division. Her last position held was Personnel Security Analyst GS12, Human Capital Office. She retired on disability June 8, 2020 after working 9+ years.
Zera was deeply loyal, sentimental, and highly creative especially in matters of family and home. She enjoyed home-base hobbies, helping others, and a good meal. Zera was always a photographer at heart continuously capturing her memories. She was adventurous and traveled the world. She traveled to Jamaica, South Africa, the Carribean Isles, Cuba, Mexico, Honduras, and London to name a few. She was willing to take risks, such as, sky-diving, zip lining, driving ATVs, swimming with the Dolphins, scuba diving, etc. Her true joy in life was her three girls. She consistently shared her time, talent, knowledge and experiences to provide them peace, love and "nappiness".
Zera took her last breath on August 30, 2020. She leaves to cherish her memory her; husband, Antonio Davis, children, Zalia, Anjanette, and Azelle Davis, Mother, Claudette Dorsey; Father, Matheno Frazier-Bey; brothers, George Harris, Dane Johnson and Matheno Frazier-Bey Jr; Sisters, Paulette Evans, Kenesha Benedetto, Jenida Dooley, Rhana Johnson; a host of nieces and nephews plus one unborn; her first unborn great niece or nephew; aunties, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, auntie and cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2020, 3:00 pm at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website. Due to the COVID19 Panademic situation mask are required.
